WowWee makes a recommendation that this robot dog is for 6 to 15 year olds. WowWee Chip Canine Home Intelligent Pet would also appeal to the older kids and also adults who maybe interested in robotics and AI.  The younger kids are sure to love Chip also but we would suggest that they should play under supervision as you would have $200.00 bucks worth of tech here that could go wrong!

The Pros

With Chip you will get a huge amount of functionality and also features and we will just be going over the tip of the iceberg here.
Now if you can remember all those clunky robot dogs of the past on the legs that could barley move, then you are going to love that WowWee Chip Canine Home Intelligent Pet moves around on wheels. Comes with mecanum wheels that allows Chip to move with speed, agility and also has multi direction so he will follow you around easily and play games with his ball.
Chips has a  SmartBed that will give him somewhere  to sleep and can charge his battery when it is low, Chip will return to his bed when his battery is low to recharge automatically.
Chip also comes with a SmartBall that you can train him to fetch and bring it back to you or you could also play soccer with him. This is aslo a great way of using a tech toy to keep the kids active.
Chip is controlled with a SmartBand that will allow him to recognize you as his master and no one else as his owner. There are a whole lot of interactive functions and actions that will be carried out between Chip, you and the SmartBand.
One of the real beauties of Chip is that you can for instance reward him for good behavior and he will then know what you like or you dislike so this will make him unique to each owner. Just like a real dog you can train Chip to come to you also heel and or stay. You can also get him to attack those that may be annoying you, luckily for them he cannot bite!

The Cons
What we are seeing so far we really like and until there are customer reviews online it is difficult to discuss any cons.
Chip is only an indoor robotic dog so if you have any plans on taking him for walks throughout the neighborhood then this may be a bit of a big disappointment.

We know two hundred dollars can be a little much to pay out for a toy but with this one you are sure to get a lot of use out of it and it will be constantly updated through the app with much more features so the kids shouldn’t get bored with it.
